This is not a knockout, all entrants are paired for all 6 games.

This year only Staffordshire qualified players will be able to compete in the event which will really showcase the best the county can offer.

"Staffordshire" is defined by historic chess boundaries which includes Staffordshire, Stoke-On-Trent, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley and many adjacent areas.

A player must not have represented another county in preference to Staffordshire in the past 12 months - where Staffordshire entered a team.

Sections: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U14, U16, U18. Sections might be merged depending on number of entrants.

If a section is merged then a younger participant can win the older age group category. E.g. If an under 8 wins the U8+U9 section they will be eligible for the U9 trophy.

Please take ages from the start of the school year at midnight on 31st August 2025.
